Embroidery is actually a piece of art which was designed by needle, stitching in strands of thread. Embroidery can be use in many materials, such as metal strips, sequins, quills, pearls and beads. Some of the common sewing machines are able to perform embroidery service. However, commercial embroidery machine can perform better performance than the domestic sewing machine.

There are many type of embroidery. Some of the common types are listed below:
1)    Surface embroidery
a.    The design or pattern is actually stitch on top of the foundation fabric (stabilizer) using decorative stitches and laid threads. This type of embroidery encompasses free embroidery with some forms of counted-thread embroidery. Example of this is combination is corss-stitch.
2)    Canvas work
a.    Threads that are attached in the stitches are use to run over a fabric mesh to create a dense pattern that completely covers the foundation fabric. Some of the printed canvases are use as a colour guide for stitches   

Embroidery cost is dependent on the number of stitches and number of threads colour. The price is usually price at $3.00 per 3000 stitches and additional of $0.50 for every 1000 stitches. However, in Red Dot Concept, the cost of embroidery is usually range at $1.50 ~ $2.00 for every 3000 stitches.
In order to the design to stitch onto the cloth or shirt, soft copy designs need to be layout first. This usually requires a design fee of $40 to $60 in Singapore market. However, in Red Dot Concept it is usually price at $15 to $20 for each design.
